Secure AI adoption starts with people who understand the risks
AI is changing how organisations work — from creating content and analysing information to automating business processes. Using these tools responsibly requires an understanding of the security risks surrounding sensitive data, access permissions, third-party platforms and AI-generated outputs.
KCPEE’s Cybersecurity for AI programme is designed to help professionals recognise these risks and develop practical safeguards for AI adoption.
Your Cybersecurity for AI journey
Progress from using AI tools safely in your own role to governing AI risk across the enterprise.
Use AI Safely at Work
Understand how AI tools handle business information, recognise AI-specific threats and fraud, and build safe habits for prompts, uploads, sharing and verification.
Your role: AI tool user, team member or MSME staff handling business data
Secure AI Tools & Integrations
Assess AI use cases, apply data controls, review access and API permissions for connected assistants, test for prompt injection and leakage, and handle AI-related incidents.
Your role: Security or IT analyst, AI implementation team member, system or process owner
Build an AI Security Programme
Turn assessments into a managed programme for a business function: data-handling standards, acceptable-use policy, vendor assessment process, human review points, training and incident readiness.
Your role: IT or security manager, HR or operations manager, risk and compliance lead, AI programme owner
Govern AI Risk Across the Enterprise
Set organisation-wide direction for secure AI adoption: AI risk appetite, governance structure, policy architecture, third-party AI strategy, regulatory alignment and board reporting.
Your role: CISO, CIO or CTO, chief risk officer, business owner or board advisor
Designed for working professionals
IT & cybersecurity professionals
Extending security practice to AI tools and integrations.
AI implementation teams
Deploying assistants and automations across the business.
Business consultants
Advising clients on safe, well-governed AI adoption.
HR & operations managers
Whose teams handle sensitive data with AI tools.
Risk & compliance professionals
Responsible for policy, oversight and assurance.
MSME owners
Adopting or overseeing AI without a large security team.
Foundational concepts support participants from business backgrounds. Technical exercises can be adapted to the experience and responsibilities of each cohort.
What you’ll learn
A practical sequence that moves from foundations to applying the skills on real work.
AI and cybersecurity fundamentals
Understand how AI tools interact with business systems, where information can be exposed, and how security responsibilities change when organisations adopt AI.
Protecting business data in AI tools
Identify sensitive information, apply data classification, and establish safe practices for prompts, uploads, sharing and storage.
Understanding AI-specific threats
Explore prompt injection, manipulation of AI outputs, data poisoning and information leakage through accessible examples and guided scenarios.
Identity, access & integration security
Understand least-privilege access, authentication, API permissions, and the risks created when AI assistants connect to business applications.
AI-enabled fraud & social engineering
Recognise suspicious messages, impersonation, deepfakes and fraudulent requests — and establish verification practices before taking action.
AI governance & vendor assessment
Develop a structured approach to reviewing AI vendors, acceptable-use policies, human oversight and security responsibilities.
Incident response & organisational readiness
Report, contain and respond to suspected incidents involving AI tools, and identify gaps in your organisation’s preparedness.
How each module deepens across levels
All seven modules run through every level, moving from safe personal practice to enterprise governance.
| Module | Foundation | Practitioner | Manager | Leader |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI & cybersecurity fundamentals | How AI tools work and where business data flows | AI system architecture, integrations and attack surface | Security responsibilities across functions; AI asset inventory | AI within enterprise risk strategy and accountability |
| Protecting business data | Recognising sensitive data; safe prompts, uploads and sharing | Data classification, retention settings and leakage controls | Data-handling standards and privacy compliance for a function | Enterprise data strategy for AI and regulatory alignment |
| AI-specific threats | Spotting prompt injection, leakage and unreliable outputs | Testing and mitigating prompt injection, poisoning and manipulation | Threat scenarios and risk registers for function use cases | Emerging AI threat landscape and scenario planning |
| Identity, access & integrations | Strong authentication and permission hygiene | Least privilege, API permissions and connector access reviews | Access governance, human review points and segregation of duties | Identity and assurance strategy for AI agents and integrations |
| AI-enabled fraud & social engineering | Spotting AI-generated phishing, impersonation and deepfakes; verify before acting | Verification controls for payments, approvals and data requests | Fraud-response procedures and staff awareness programmes | Executive-impersonation protection and fraud risk governance |
| Governance & vendor assessment | What acceptable-use policy means for your role | Vendor security checklist and data-processing questions | Drafting acceptable-use policy and running vendor assessments | AI governance framework, policy architecture and board reporting |
| Incident response & readiness | Recognising and reporting suspected AI incidents | Containment, evidence and playbooks for AI incidents | Incident procedures, tabletop exercises and readiness gaps | Crisis leadership, stakeholder communication and resilience testing |
Turn learning into workplace action
Proposed learning activities include — scaled in depth to each level:
Review an AI use case for security and data risks
Assess an AI vendor using a practical checklist
Draft an acceptable-use policy for employees
Work through an AI-related incident scenario
Prepare an AI security improvement plan for a selected business function
What you’ll be able to do
By the end of the programme, participants should be able to:
- Identify common security risks in workplace AI use
- Recommend safeguards for sensitive business information
- Evaluate AI tools and integrations using structured questions
- Define appropriate access controls and human review points
- Contribute to AI usage policies and incident-response procedures

Common questions
Which level should I start at?
Most learners start at Foundation. If you already work in security, IT or AI implementation, you may start at Practitioner; managers and senior leaders can discuss starting at Manager or Leader. Select “Not sure — advise me” in the form and a counsellor will recommend a level.
How long does each level take?
Foundation 30–45 guided hours, Practitioner 45–70, Manager 50–85 and Leader 40–55.
What happens after I complete a level?
You earn a KCPEE Completion Certificate naming the programme and level. You can then progress to the next level.
Do I need a technical background?
No. Foundational concepts support participants from business backgrounds, and technical exercises are adapted to the experience and responsibilities of each cohort.
How is this different from Cybersecurity with AI?
Cybersecurity with AI builds broad cyber-defence capability and uses AI to strengthen it. Cybersecurity for AI focuses on securing AI adoption itself — the data, access, vendors, threats and governance that come with using AI tools.
Can I use my own organisation’s AI use cases in the course?
Yes, with your organisation’s approval and with sensitive details anonymised. We can also provide a realistic case if you prefer.
What is the format, duration and schedule?
Batch timings, format and duration are shared on your counselling call so we can match you to the cohort that suits your work schedule.
What are the fees?
Our counsellor will send current fees along with the brochure. Ask about options for employer sponsorship and team enrolments.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Learners who complete the required assessment receive KCPEE certification. See our Assessment & Certification page for details.
Can my employer sponsor me or enrol a team?
Yes. We work directly with organisations on sponsored and group enrolments — see our corporate training page or mention it in the form.
